Position Overview:

The Finance Manager will oversee financial planning, risk management, reporting, accounting and compliance for a renewable energy producer company. They will ensure the company’s financial health by managing budgets, optimizing costs, securing funding, regular and accurate accounting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in renewable energy finance, project related accounting, and banking relations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage financial models for solar projects, including cash flow forecasts and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct scenario analysis for investment decisions and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and oversee the company’s annual budget and financial plans.
  • Track project costs, operational expenses, and revenue streams to optimize profitability.
  • Implement cost-control measures to enhance financial efficiency.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, and lenders.
  • Submission of relevant reports, documents, and details to bankers.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
  • Oversee financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage working capital, ensuring optimal cash flow for operations and projects.
  • Optimize treasury functions, including payment processing, fund transfers, and investment strategies.
  • Mitigate financial risks related to currency exchange, interest rates, and credit.
  • Stay updated on government policies, tax incentives, and subsidies for solar energy.
  • Apply for grants, tax credits, and carbon offset programs to maximize financial benefits.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and access to incentives.

Academic Qualification:

  • Professional certification (CA, CMA, ACCA)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).

Skills/Job Specification:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of project finance, debt structuring, and PPAs.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software and financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in managing the financial aspects of solar/hydro power projects.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with sustainability finance.
